Volvo EXC 500E – Excavator Simulator
The Volvo Excavator 500 Simulator delivers a true-to-life operator experience, featuring original E-series controls, Volvo Co-Pilot 2.0 with Dig Assist and Onboard Weighing, a high-performance motion system, and an industrial-grade visualization setup. Designed for simplicity and realism, it provides an intuitive and immersive training environment.
With over twenty-five scenarios teaching the fundamentals of operating the EC230 and EC750 excavators, operators are guided through basic and advanced excavator operation—from starting and stopping to maneuvering and executing precise load and dig cycles across various real-world environments. The training includes both structured lessons and open-ended playgrounds, all focused on developing operator skill and maximizing productivity.
Volvo Demolition Extension
An optional extension, Volvo Demolition, adds six specialized scenarios focused on building deconstruction using an EC480 with a tiltable cab. Operators learn to handle high-reach operations and a range of demolition attachments, gaining hands-on experience in safe and effective teardown techniques.

Comprehensive Training
The simulator offers over 26 different training and demonstration scenarios, many of them set within a virtual replica of our Eskilstuna Demo Center. This allows operators to practice in realistic environments and prepare for a variety of real-world situations. From foundational skills to complex site operations, each exercise is tracked and evaluated through the integrated Operator Performance System (OPS).
Machine Operations
Build essential skills and develop a deep understanding of machine functionality and controls.
Productivity Training
Start by evaluating your current performance, then progress through guided scenarios designed to improve efficiency and on-site productivity.
Grouped Scenarios
Structured, goal-oriented training modules that streamline learning, boost operator independence, and maximize training outcomes.

Skill Enhancement
This exercise example is an introduction to our Skills Enhancement system.
In this productivity assessment scenario, the operators ability to efficiently load a crusher will be assessed. It’s important to operate with care—causing damage or subjecting the machine to excessive wear will lower the final score. Performance is measured based on productivity and fuel efficiency, encouraging smooth, skillful, and cost-effective operation.

Operator Performance System (OPS)
All Volvo CE simulators come equipped with an integrated user management system that tailors specific training paths for each student. Each scenario generates an Operator Performance System report, providing comprehensive statistics on the operator’s performance. This includes a total score and grading based on predefined criteria.
Following the completion of every scenario, operators receive a detailed performance report highlighting successes and areas for improvement. For instance, while achieving excellent completion time and production scores, the report may uncover issues such as high fuel consumption and unnecessary wear and tear. This capability not only identifies potential concerns difficult to detect with real machinery but also helps in cost mitigation and enhances overall safety.
